At least 30 alleged drug personalities actively engaging in illegal activities are being monitored and eyed for arrest by the Tagbilaran City Police Station (TCPS) and authorities in first district towns.
This was bared by TCPS chief Supt. Nicomedes Olaivar in an interview with DYRD Balita on Friday.
According to Olaivar, the police’s drug enforcement units are focusing on apprehending the 30 suspects who have been included in their priority watchlist.
He said that other suspects have taken over the narcotics trade left by arrested or killed big-time drug personalities while small dealers also continue their operations.
Most of the drug supply reaching Tagbilaran CIty and several towns in Bohol are smuggled in from neighboring provinces such as Cebu, Olaivar added.
Previously, President Rodrigo Duterte tagged Cebu as among areas with the highest drug consumption.
In the TCPS latest drug bust, operatives of the city police’s drug enforcement unit and Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit collared ex-convict Oliver Estaca, 37.
He was allegedly caught in possession of shabu worth P50, 000.
Estaca, a resident of Peñaflor St., Brgy. Booy, Tagbilaran City, is a newly identified drug personality but is also included in the TCPS’ drug watchlist. (Allen Doydora)
