Suspect Elcid “Papo” Sepe (right) looks on as authorities conduct an inventory of illegal drugs allegedly siezed from him in Barangay Dampas, Tagbilaran City on Thursday afternoon.

In the police’s continued war on drugs, 40 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P472,000 was seized from an alleged big-time drug dealer in an anti-drug operation in Tagbilaran City on Thursday.

According to P/Sr. Insp. Jojit Manangil of the Provincial Intelligence Branch, the confiscated drugs were sourced from provinces in Mindanao based on intelligence reports gathered by the police unit.

The bulk of suspected shabu were seized from Elcid “Papo” Sepe, 22, who was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted near the suspect’s residence in Brgy. Dampas, Tagbilaran City, said Manangil.

Sepe allegedly sold a large packet of shabu worth P3,000 to a police poseur-buyer resulting in his immediate arrest.

Based on police reports, Sepe is the first to be caught with shabu amounting over P100,000 in Bohol since the resumption of the Philippine National Police’s anti-drug operations which were suspended last month. (Weli Maetsrado)
