2 Tagbilaran stores lose P50-K items to burglars

Around P50,000 worth of assorted items were allegedly stolen from lumber supply and convenience stores in separate burglary incidents in Tagbilaran City.

One of the victims, Winnie Israel, 30, reported to police that a box full of goods worth P20,000 were taken by an unidentified suspect from their store yesterday.

Israel’s business partner, Pastora Arizola, noticed on Tuesday morning that several items from their store were already missing prompting them to report the incident to authorities.

Based on the investigation of the Tagbilaran City police theft and robbery section, the padlock of the store’s main door was forcibly opened by the suspect.

Authorities are still continuing their probe in identifying and locating the burglary suspect.

On Monday, P30,000 worth of construction equipment were allegedly stolen from EDCEL Lumber Supply along Salazar Street, Barangay Ubujan.

The store’s owner Macaria Tomo, 43, narrated to police that a Makita electric drill, Bosch brand portable saw and finishing sander were taken from the store’s garage.

According to police, the suspect used a steel bar to break open the store’s padlock. (Weli Maestrado)
