A 10-wheeler trucked flipped over to its side after its driver intentionally rammed into the foot of a cliff along the national road at a forested area in Barangay Villa Aurora, Bilar on Thursday.

There were no fatalities but the truck’s driver, Anelo Limo, a 33-year-old resident of Brgy. Hagbuaya, Catigbian suffered minor injuries.

According to Bilar police investigators, the Izuzu aluminum wing van driven by Limo lost its brakes while travelling towards Tagbilaran City at moderate speed.

At a curve, Limo decided to head straight into the foot of a cliff to avoid losing control of the truck and hitting incoming vehicles at the opposite lane, based on police investigation.

The truck flipped to its side momentarily blocking two lanes of the road before an emergency team arrived at the area.

Limo was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. (Carlos Garcia, HNU MassComm intern)
