Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña has offered a P100,000 bounty for each of the remaining Abu Sayyaf stragglers who continued to elude police and military forces following the latest clash in Clarin last Saturday.

Osmeña offered the amount as assistance to hasten the capture of the remaining Abu Sayyaf bandits who are reportedly still in Clarin, Mayor Allen Ray Piezas told media in an interview Tuesday.

The amount will be added to the P1-million bounty for each militant offered by President Duterte and another P100,000 each which will be provided by an unidentified “concerned citizen.”

According to Piezas, three bandits remain at large and are likely hiding in Clarin’s hinterlands while pursuit operations of the military have been sustained.

Meanwhile, authorities are still coming up with a system to determine how much of the total bounty will be extended to the person who relayed to authorities information which led to death of four Abu Sayyaf bandits in Clarin.

Piezas did not disclose the identity of the informant, while several sectors have already urged authorities to refrain from identifying the man for his safety.

However, accounts that had previously surfaced indicated that it was a ‘habal-habal’ driver who was instrumental in locating four ASG bandits including Bohol native Joselito Melloria who were killed by government troops. (Allen Doydora)
