The inauguration of the new police station in Tagbilaran City has been postponed due to Philippine National Police chief Dir. Gen. Ronald dela Rosa’s cancellation of his attendance in the activity.
According to Tagbilaran City Administrator Leonides Borja, dela Rosa made a last-minute cancellation due to complications in the police chief’s schedule.
The inauguration was previously set on May 1.
The police chief had also backed out from being one of the judges of the Miss Tagbilaran pageant on orders of President Duterte.
In March, dela Rosa was set to be the guest of honor in Antequera’s 141st anniversary.
However, he also made a last-minute cancellation as he flew to Davao City instead to attend to official matters.
Dela Rosa’s mother Anesia Cruspero Marapon traced her roots to the Bohol town.
Borja said that the inauguration of the capital’s new PNP building will be put on hold until dela Rosa would be able to attend the event.
Mayor John Geesnell Yap intended to have the country’s highest-ranking policeman lead the launching of the newly constructed P14-million structure.
