A 29-year-old man included in the drug watch list of the Clarin police was arrested in an anti-drug operation in Barangay Lahug of said town at 9:30 p.m. on Friday.
Suspect Cirilo Matilos, a Clarin resident, was collared through a buy-bust operation of the town’s Drug Enforcement Unit led by station commander Sr. Insp. Fernando Peroramas.
The suspect allegedly sold a packet of shabu worth P500 to a poseur-buyer leading to his arrest.
Other than the sold drugs, police also allegedly found four packets of shabu and drug paraphernalia in the Matilos’ possession.
According to SPO1 Janeo Villame, Matilos who is from Brgy. Lahug also deals illegal drugs in nearby villages.
Matilos is listed as a newly identified drug personality in the town and had refised to surrender under Oplan Tokhang, said Villame.
The suspect was reportedly told by authorities to cut involvement in illegal drug activities.
He is now detained at the Clarin Police Station while charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are set to be filed against him. (Rey Tutas)
