Father Andres “Andy” Ayco who was designated in various parishes in Bohol passed away on Thursday morning after battling thyroid cancer. He was 56.
This was confirmed by Fr. Felix Warlie Salise, director of the Social Action Center of the Diocese of Tagbilaran, who said that Ayco passed away at 11:40 a.m. at a hospital in Lapu-Lapu City.
Ayco served as parish priest of the Sta. Monica Parish in Albur, Saint Isidore the Farmer Church in Brgy. San Isidro, Tagbilaran City and assistant parish priest at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Dauis.
He was also appointed diocesan vocation director, chancellor and Social Action Center director of the Diocese of Tagbilaran.
Ayco, a native of Sevilla, studied at the Asian Institute of Management and the San Jose Seminary of Ateneo de Manila University before he was ordained priest in April 29, 1987.
He finished high school at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Barangay Taloto, Tagbilaran City. (RT)
