The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bohol said that it is targeting to generate at least P15 million in revenues through exhibitors of the 2017 Sandugo Trade Expo which kicks off on Wednesday afternoon.
According to DTI-7 director Aster Caberte, the annual trade fair which is now on its 12th year managed to sell local products worth P15 million in 2016 and they are seeking to maintain the said income for this year’s expo.
The event themed “Partnering and Engaging for Change” will be held at the Island City Mall from 4:30 p.m. this afternoon until Sunday during mall hours.
Caberte pointed out that an “exclusively Visayas” fashion show which will feature creations of popular designers in the region will be among the highlights of the activity.
According to Caberte, the 2017 trade expo will be bigger than last year’s as other areas including Negros Island, CALABARZON, Regions 7, 4, 4-A, 6, 8, 10, 11 and 13 are also set to put up exhibits.
Large and popular enterprises selling native products and which have “pasalubong centers” from across the country are also expected to join the event, she said.
Meanwhile, officials of theme park Enchanted Kingdom will also be attending the trade fair as “buying agent” to search for products which may be used for its business.
Around 103 exhibitors are expected to be in ICM to sell various products which were crafted for local sale and exportation. (A. Doydora)
