The Tagbilaran City Police Office (TCPO) has launched a manhunt against a suspect who eluded arrest during a drug buy-bust operation last week.
PO3 Richard Timbal of the TCPO’s intelligence section identified the suspect as “Gonggong” Torres, a resident of Hontanosas St., near JA Clarin in Tagbilaran City.
Torres is included in the TCPO’s drug watch list, said Timbal.
In a report, police had indicated that Torres was subjected to sting operation led by Sr. Insp. Erano Regidor last week.
The anti-narcotics operation was set up after the suspect was allegedly spotted selling illegal drugs near his residence.
However, police noted that Torres was able to run and escape after allegedly selling shabu worth P500 to a police poseuer-buyer.
Torres’ brother who was carrying a baby went near the policemen partially blocking them and allowing the suspect to get a head start and flee, police said.
Meanwhile, recent reports received by police indicated that the suspect may have fled Tagbilaran City. (WM)
