A man deemed a top target in the Bohol Provincial Police Office’s (BPPO) anti-drug campaign was arrested in Dauis on Thursday along with four other suspects.
Dauis police chief Gerard Luna identified the collared suspect as Sosimo Miao, 46, who is listed in the town’s and the province’s drug watch lists as a high-value target.
According to Luna, Miao, a resident of Bingag, Dauis, was spotted selling shabu while police were conducting monitoring operations near the suspect’s home.
Police then immediately set up a drug buy-bust against Miao who allegedly sold shabu worth P500 to a police poseur-buyer.
However, Miao reportedly noticed he was transacting with an undercover agent prompting him to flee towards his home where his alleged associate in the drug trade, Moncito Lonod, 28, was also found.
In the pursuit, police also chanced upon Miao’s alleged drug buyers Nicole Loquias, 21, Harold Neil Gonzaga, 19 and Gary Balinas, 42, all residents of Dauis, and arrested the alleged drug users.
A total of 21 small packets and one large pack of shabu were recovered from Miao’s possession, authorities said.
Several packets of shabu were also allegedly found in the possession of Lobod, Balinas, Loquias and Gonzaga.
The five suspects are now detained at the Dauis police lock-up jail while authorities prepare to file drug charges against them. (W. Maestrado)
