Two men were stabbed and injured in a bar scuffle in Tagbilaran City at dawn on Thursday while a lone suspect was caught following a hot pursuit launched by police.

Authorities identified the victims as Patrick Sister, 25, and Dave Gilay, both residents of Sitio Kataingan, Barangay Mansasa in Tagbilaran.

In a report, police indicated that Sister sustained a stab wound in his leg while Gilay in his lower back during a fight which broke out in Olman’s Plaza.

Both are still being treated for their injuries at the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital, police said.

Meanwhile, authorities identified the suspect as Adonis Recamia, a native of San Carlos City, Negros Occidental who temporarily lived at the Malmis warehouse in Barangay Taloto.

Recamia immediately fled the crime scene prompting responding police officers to conduct a hot pursuit.

The operation led to the arrest of Recamia who was positively identified by Gilay as the man who stabbed him and Sister.

Personnel of the police’s criminal investigation section have been tasked to conduct a follow-up probe to identify the motive behind the stabbing incident and further gather information. (WM)
