A woman mall-hopping in Tagbilaran City allegedly fell prey to a pickpocket who discreetly swiped cash and cellphone from her on Monday.
The victim, Maria Corazon Manzano, a 49-year-old accountant of PQ Equipment and Construction Services, said that she went to Island City Mall, BQ Mall and City Square before realizing that she lost her belongings.
She told police that she only found out that her wallet which contained money and her cellphone were lost upon reaching her home in Barangay Dao, Tagbilaran City.
Cash amounting to 1,5000 and $10, a jade pendant and important receipts were inside the allegedly stolen wallet, Manzano said.
Authorities reviewed pieces of footage from closed-circuit television cameras mounted inside the malls but have not detected a suspect who went near the victim to steal the items.
However, Manzano believed that her wallet and cellphone were stolen in one of the establishments.
The Tagbilaran City police theft and robbery section has been tasked to investigate the case. (WM)
