A suspected drug dealer allegedly yielded shabu worth P375,000 in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Loon on Monday night.
According to PDEA provincial intelligence chief Nicolas Gomez, the suspect is included in their province-wide watch list of drug personalities.
Gomez identified the suspect as Welbert Veloso, 41, of Barangay Catagbacan in Loon.
Veloso was arrested by PDEA operatives after he allegedly sold shabu worth P40,000 to an undercover agent.
In a report, the PDEA indicated that operatives spotted Veloso peddling illegal drugs near his residence.
This prompted authorities to set up the buy-bust operation.
PDEA agents then immediately arrested Veloso after the staged transaction was completed.
According to authorities, they found in the suspect’s possession 25 grams of suspected shabu as they arrested him.
He is now being held at Camp Dagohoy in Tagbilaran City while the PDEA is preparing to filed drug charges against him. (wm)
