Murder charges are set to be filed against two suspects who shot a man dead in front of his 14-year-old son in Buenavista on Saturday morning, police said.
Buenavista police chief SPO4 Rolando Amor identified the suspects as Dante Betaganso and his nephew Rogelio Betaganso.
Murder raps will be filed against them tomorrow for killing their neighbor Jose Neusana, 41, of Barangay Nueva Montaña of said town, said Amor.
According to Amor, Neusana was driving his motorcycle with his son onboard along a street in Sitio Bunga, Barangay Panghagban when the motorcycle-riding suspects suddenly followed them.
Neusana reportedly pulled over as he noticed the suspects.
Dante then pulled out a pistol and immediately shot Neusana in the head, said Amor.
Neusana fell to the ground while the suspects immediately fled the scene.
According to Amor, the victim’s son who was uninjured during the shooting incident revealed the suspects identities to authorities.
Police immediately launched a hot pursuit operation after the attack on Neusana but failed to locate the Betansos.
Both men were also no longer seen in their village after the incident.
According to Amor, police are eyeing personal conflict as motive behind the shooting.
Police also found out that Dante is wanted for robbery and is a noted robber in Buenavista and neighboring towns. (Allen Doydora)
