What started as jeering among friends led to the fatal stabbing of a 25-year-old man in Jagna.

According to SPO2 Van Balabat of the Jagna Police Station, victim Jameson Sajol of Barangay Mayana of said town was stabbed in the chest by his neighbor on Sunday night leading to his death.

Sajol succumbed to the single stab wound as he was rushed to the hospital.

Balabat said that the murder stemmed from joking among friends while in a drinking session that later on led to a heated argument between Sajol and the suspect, Ronaldo Sabidan, 33.

“Basi sa sulti sa mga kauban ug inom nga gi jokan lang ang suspek nga pustahan ug 30 pesos iyang itari-ay nga manok hangtud mi-abot sa lalis,” Balabat said.

Sabidan was apparently irked by the jokes against his fighting cock and the argument prompting him to go home.

However, Sabidan returned wielding a kitchen knife and dashed towards Sajol to stab him in the chest.

According to Balabat, Sabijan is now in the custody of the Jagna police.

He was arrested shortly after the stabbing incident.

A homicide charge is set to be filed against him today, Balabat said.
