A man newly identified as a drug suspect by the Tagbilaran City police was arrested in a buy-bust operation on Friday night.
Authorities identified the suspect as Wilfredo “Along” Burato, 27, of Upper Calceta in Barangay Cogon, Tagbilaran City.
In a report, police said that operatives led by Sr. Insp. Erano Regidor spotted Burato as he was selling illegal drugs near his residence.
This prompted police to set up the sting operation against Burato.
According to authorities, the suspect sold one packet of shabu to a police poseur-buyer.
Operatives then arrested the Burato after handing over the sachet of suspected illegal drugs.
Police said that they found three more packets of shabu from the suspect as they frisked him.
The seized drugs were estimated to be worth P15,000.
Burato is now detained at the Tagbilaran City police lock-up jail as authorities prepare to file charges against him. (wm)
