A self-confessed drug user survived a gun attack by still unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects who rode in tandem right outside a chapel in Baclayon at past midnight on Wednesday.
SPO2 Alexander Tubig of the Baclayon Police Station identified the victim as Geoffrey Gilay, 26, of Barangay Guiwanon in the said town.
According to Tubig, the victim was sitting on the front steps of a village chapel when the suspects suddenly passed by and the motorcycle passenger shot at him.
Gilay was able to run but the suspects followed and shot at him multiple times, Tubig said.
The victim sustained a gunshot wound in his right leg and was immediately rushed to a hospital.
According to Tubig, Gilay previously surrendered through “Oplan Tokhang” as a drug user.
Meanwhile, police continued to conduct an investigation on the case while no possible suspects have been pinpointed yet. (A. Doydora)
