A lifeless dolphin was found in the shore of a village in Garcia Hernandez on Saturday morning, police said.
According to PO2 Greg Cuadra of the Garcia Hernandez police, the dead dolphin was first spotted by residents of Barangay Ulbujan West at around 6:30 a.m.
The villagers initially thought it was a large fish but upon checking, they found that it was a dolphin.
Cuadra said that the mammal had wound in its side.

However, they were unable to determine the cause of the injury or if it caused the its death.
The dolphin was later taken by members of the town’s “Bantay Dagat” unit which buried the mammal in the nearby village of Tubuan. (AD)
