Two motorcycle drivers with no valid driver’s licenses landed in the hospital along with their passengers after one of the vehicles rammed the other from behind along a national road in Dauis on Tuesday.

According to SPO3 Jose Pugoy of the Dauis Police Station, one of the ill-fated motorcycles was about to make a U-turn when the other hit the vehicle from behind in Barangay Mariveles at around 9 a.m.

The driver of the trailing motorcycle was identified as Joseph Loremia, 40, and his passenger as Maria Gina Borja, both residents of Panglao.

Meanwhile, the other motorcycle was driven by Joyce Heyrosa, 27, who was travelling with Joanne Lagud, 27, of Mariveles.

All four victims were rushed to the hospital, Pugoy said.

Borja suffered the most severe injuries but is already being treated, he added.

Based on police investigation, Lomeria had an expired driver’s license while Heyrosa was driving without one.

This led police to take custody of both motorcycles.

Meanwhile, authorities have yet to verify the condition of all four victims who remained at the hospital as of this posting. (AD)
