FastCat’s Jagna-Mambajao-Opol Ro-Ro route starts tomorrow

A catamaran roll-on roll-off (Ro-Ro) type vessel which will be plying the new Bohol-Camiguin-Misamis Oriental route will have its inaugural trip on Wednesday.

According to Rica Dugaduga, spokesperson of Archipelago Philippine Ferries Corp. (FastCat), the vessel will leave Jagna at 12 p.m. for Balbagon in Mambajao, Camiguin.

It is expected to arrive in Mambajao at 2:45 p.m. and will depart for Opol, Misamis Oriental at 4 .p.m. in an almost 4-hour trip.

From Opol, the vessel will traverse the same route back to Jagna at 9:30 p.m.

The same schedule will be followed for the said route on a daily basis, said Dugaduga.

According to Dugaduga, the vessel can carry 34 four-wheel vehicles and seven trucks or buses.

It can travel at a maximum speed of 16 knots allowing it to traverse distances between Visayas and Mindanao in a short time.

In 2016, FastCat launched trips between Tubigon and Cebu.

The shipping firm also has a fleet of Ro-Ro vessels servicing various destinations across the country. (AD)
