These photos of two policemen and a traffic enforcer, who appeared to be violating the helmet law, went viral over Facebook after concerned citizens posted them online prompting authorities to conduct investigations into their alleged violations.

The Tagbilaran City traffic enforcer who was caught violating the Helmet Law through a photo that went viral over Facebook has been suspended.

This was announced by Tagbilaran Mayor John Geesnell Yap II through a Facebook post on Thursday night.

The photo which was posted online by a concerned citizen showed a traffic enforcer in his uniform driving a motorcycle without a helmet.

The image was purportedly taken after the Helmet Law was again enforced in Tagbilaran City on March 9 and in the entire province on March 21.

Yap said that the City Traffic Management Office personnel is now being investigated for the alleged violation.

However, the mayor did not identify the traffic enforcer.

“We will not tolerate this,” said Yap. “Ang ato city traffic enforcer will be suspended pending investigation starting tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, Tagbilaran police chief Supt. Patricio Degay told Yap that the two motorcycle-riding police officers who were also spotted without helmets in Tagbilaran City are not under the city police.

The still unidentified policemen were also caught through photos shared by a concerned citizen. The images also went viral on Facebook.

“Sa police gi pa abot na nako sa Chief of Police of Tagbilaran and dile daw ni sila Police Tagbilaran so gi forward nato sa Bohol Provincial Police office,” Yap said. (AD)
