A proposal for another wage  increase will be deliberated during a public hearing set at the Metro Center Hotel on Friday, 9 o’clock in the morning.

DOLE-7 Regional Director Cyril L. Ticao, who is the chairman of the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (Region VII) will preside the public hearing which will present to the two proposals on wage adjustments applied by the various labor groups

One proposal submitted by various labor unions namely the Cebu Labor Coalition, Lonbisco Employees Organization, Metaphil Workers Union, NUMHRAIN-MONTEBELLO chapter NLM-Katipuan and Union Bank Employees Asso, has proposed a P155.80 across-the-board daily wage adjustment in Central Visayas, comprising the provinces of Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor.

The other proposal is a P120- across the board daily wage hike submitted by the Association of Labor Unions (ALU) and the Trade Union Congress of the Phils (TUCP).

DirectorTicao said the public hearing aims to solicit sentiments of stakeholders relative to the applied wage increase.  He said the one-year prohibitive period has already passed for the board to deliberate application for salary adjjustments among workers in Region VII.
