Two Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) police chiefs have been reassigned after surpassing their two-year tenure as commanders of their respective units.
The transferred police officials were Chief Inspector Desiree Lavisto, commander of the Ubay Police Station, and Chief Insp. Jul Mohammad Jamiri, chief of the BPPO Tourist Unit.
Both their transfers were ordered by the BPPO.
Jamiri was transferred to the BPPO’s Provincial Operations Branch.
Meanwhile, Lavisto was tasked to lead the Panglao-based BPPO Tourist Unit.
He was replaced by Chief Insp. Jacinto Mandal who took over the helm of the Ubay Police Station on Wednesday.
Mandal was assigned in various police stations in Bohol since 2013 when he was stationed in Loon.
He was then transferred to Panglao in 2015 and Buenavista in 2016.
Mandal was also assigned to the Police Station 4 in Mabolo, Police Station 5 in Ermita in Cebu City and Cebu City Police Office Tourist Police as deputy chief for operations.
In 2017, Mandal led the underwater search and retreival operations for the remains of Bien Unido Mayor Gisela Boniel. (RT)
