Marjun Amodia, 24, died on the spot after he accidentally slammed into a delivery truck along a national road in Barangay Bingag, Dauis on Thursday.

One person was killed while two were injured in two separate motorcycle accidents along roads in Panglao and Dauis on Thursday.

The fatality, identified as Marjun Amodia, 24, of Tagbilaran City, was declared dead on the spot while his passenger Dexter Abijar sustained injuries, said SPO3 Progreso Macua of the Dauis Police Station.

According to Macua, Amodia on board his motorcycle slammed into the side of an Elf truck which was about to make a U-turn along the national highway in Barangay Bingag in Dauis.

Authorities believe that Amodia may have been travelling at high speed and may not have turned in time to avoid the truck.

Macua said that Amodia was not wearing a helmet during the accident and had no driver’s license.

The truck’s driver, Romulo Apipi, was placed under police custody.

Meanwhile, a 20-year-old man driving a scooter-type motorcycle suffered injuries as he crashed after he accidentally hit a stray dog in Barangay Doljo, Panglao at past 1 p.m. on the same day.

The victim, identified as Mark Joshya Maranian, 20, was rushed to a hospital in Tagbilaran where he continued to be treated for his injuries.

According to SPO1 Manuel Rabanal of the Panglao Police Station, Maranian was wearing a helmet but this was thrown away during the accident.
