A man deemed a high-value drug target at the provincial level was arrested by Bohol police intelligence officers while his live-in partner was able to escape during a sting operation in Tagbilaran City Thursday night.

The police Provincial Intelligence Branch identified the suspect as William Ayeng, 34, a native of Lapu-Lapu City and a temporary resident of Poblacion 3 in Tagbilaran.

Ayeng was allegedly caught in possession of shabu weighing 14 grams with an estimated street value of P165,200 during his apprehension along Hontanosas St. corner J.A. Clarin.

However, police believe that Ayeng’s live-in partner, who was only identified as “Marga,” was in possession of more shabu.

She was able to flee on board a motorcycle after noticing that Ayeng was being arrested.

Police said that Ayeng also tried to escape while authorities were conducting an inventory of seized drugs.

Ayeng was already handcuffed and was seated inside a police patrol car when he ran and tried to lose the operatives along alleys in a residential area.

He was arrested after a five-minute chase, police said.

Ayeng is now under the custody of the Bohol Provincial Police Office pending the filing of charges against him. (AD)
