A Swiss national was arrested in Panglao after he was allegedly caught in possession of a marijuana plant.
According to Panglao police chief Sr. Insp. Neon Alvarez, operatives seized the potted plant from the apartment of Maik Kruesi, 32, in Barangay Danao on Thursday.
The suspected two-feet long marijuana plant was allegedly seen in plain sight outside Kruesi’s apartment.
Residents in the area reported the sighting to police.
Alvarez said that Kruesi cooperated with authorities as he was taken into custody.
However, Kruesi told police that the plant’s seedling was given to him by a friend and that he was unaware that it was marijuana.
Police have already submitted the plant to the crime laboratory.
Charges will be filed against Kruesi should the plant be proven to be marijuana. (A. Doydora)
