A house in Barangay Poblacion, Antequera was gutted by an hour-long fire which broke out at past 9 a.m. on Thursday.
No one was injured during the fire including the house owner, 79-year-old Gorgonia Aleria, said FO1 Robesa Lofranco of the Antequera Fire Station.
Fire investigators estimated that the blaze left P200,000 in property damages.
According to Lofranco, they received the fire alarm at 9:29 a.m. and the blaze was declared under control at 10:20 a.m.
Firefighters from Tagbilaran City, Maribojoc and Catigbian also responded as the fire reached second alarm, said Lofranco.
Aleria told authorities that she initially saw smoke from her kitchen but was unable to see where it came from. The fire then quickly engulfed the entire house.
Fire investigators meanwhile continued their probe on the incident to identify the cause of the fire. (A. Doydora)
