2 dead, 3 hurt in separate road mishaps in Trinidad, Antequera

Two individuals were killed while three others were injured following two separate motorcycle road accidents in Trinidad and Antequera over the weekend.

One of those injured, Mcjay Renoblas was placed on hospital arrest at the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) in Tagbilaran City and was charged with reckless imprudence resulting to homicide on Monday, said MSgt. Garnet Gabaisen of the Antequera police.

According to Gabaisen, Renoblas who was driving his motorcycle suddenly swerved to the opposite lane and collided head on against another motorcycle with three people on board along a provincial road in Barangay Can-umay, Antequera on Sunday morning.

Renoblas, and the three others on the opposing motorcycle, identified as Robin Madaje, Lorna Bolasa and Loreta Bolasa, were rushed to the GCGMH.

However, Madaje who was driving one of the motorcycles was declared dead on arrival.

Madaje was wearing a nutshell helmet while his passengers who suffered severe bruises were not wearing any protective gear.

Gabaisen said that they later found out that Renoblas who suffered several cuts and bruises was under the influence of alcohol during the incident.

On Saturday, another man was killed in a motorcycle accident in Barangay Tagum Sur, Trinidad.

The victim, identified as Jucris Garcia, 26 of Barangay San Pascual, Ubay suddenly lost control of his motorcycle and crashed while traveling from Talibon to Ubay at past 10 p.m.

Garcia was still rushed to the Don Emilio del Valle Memorial Hospital in Ubay but was declared dead on arrival. (A. Doydora)
