The suspect, 40-year-old Elena Arong, who immediately surrendered to barangay authorities following the incident, is facing a parricide charge.
According to Corporal Romel Garcia of the Clarin Police Station, victim Victoriano Arong, 47, was drunk during the incident.
He allegedly shot at Elena using an improvised shotgun (sumpak) but missed prompting her to retaliate and choke him inside their home.
