A 62-year-old Irish national lost $8,000, or roughly P418,000, as the amount was allegedly stolen by a gay man who he checked in with at a popular hotel in Tagbilaran City.

The victim, Thomas Banks, told authorities that he checked in with the suspect on Sunday night.

They slept on the same bed but Banks later woke up in the wee hours of Monday to find out that he had lost some of his belongongs including cash.

The room’s door was left open and the suspect was no longer in the area when Banks woke up.
