A man recently found guilty of a drug charge voluntarily surrendered before the Tagbilaran City Police Station on Tuesday after an arrest warrant was issued against him last week.
Authorities said that Nick Ydulzura, a 46-year-old resident of Purok 2, Barangay Bool in Tagbilaran, was accompanied by one of the villages barangay councilors, Joel Ibao, when he presented himself before the police.
In a report, police said that Ydulzura was arrested in a drug raid four years ago at his residence and a criminal case for violating Section 11 (possession) in Article II of Republic Act 9156 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 was lodged against him.
He then posted bail for his temporary liberty.
However, Ydulzura reportedly did not attend court hearings on his case.
On September 26, Judge Sisinio Virtudazo, presiding judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 4 ordered the arrest of Ydulzura.
The arrest warrant was issued against Ydulzura to bring him to court before he serves the sentence meted out by Virtudazo.
Following his surrender, Ydulzura was then taken to the Tagbilaran City police custodial facility for proper disposition. (WM)
