3 men accused of raping 10-year-old boy nabbed in Loon

Three men who were tagged as suspects in the rape of a 10-year-old boy in Loon were arrested by police on Thursday morning.

SPO1 Darwin Andales of the Loon Police Station identified the suspects as Joshua “Jackjack” Bitancor, Jan “Janjan” Bantolinao and Dominic “Minic” Mejorada, all residents of said town who are of legal age.

According to Andales, the suspects were arrested at their respective homes in Barangay Catagbacan Handig at around 8 a.m.

Police rounded them up after receiving on Tuesday a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Leo Lison, presiding judge of Regional Trial Court 3 in Tagbilaran City, against the suspects, Andales said.

The men were ordered arrested for a charge of rape by sexual assault in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

Andales said that the rape incident happened in Barangay Catagbacan Handig, Loon in May this year.

However, the police officer refused to disclose further details on the incident.


All three suspects are now detained at the Loon Police Station lock-up jail.

The court set the bail at P120,000 each for their temporary liberty. (A. Doydora)
