Four men who were previously apprehended for drug charges and released through plea bargaining deals were rearrested in two successive drug buy-bust operations carried out by police intelligence officers in Tagbilaran City at dawn on Tuesday.

The suspects, all deemed high-value targets in the police’s drug watch list, allegedly yielded shabu worth a total of P850,000.

Police identified the suspects as Eladio Gonzaga, 41, and Ronald Hora, 38, who were collared in one operation and Margarito Lofranco, 29, and Sergio Aparicio, 32, who were arrested in another operation.

In a report, authorities said that operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch first arrested Gonzaga and Hora in Barangay Dampas at 3:25 a.m. The suspects allegedly yielded P272,000 worth of shabu.

Prior to the operation, police placed both men under surveillance after concerned citizens reported their alleged illegal drug activities in the village.

According to authorities, information gathered from Hora and Gonzaga then led them to Aparicio and Lofranco who were pinpointed as bigger players in the drug trade.
