A pharmacy-cum-convenience store in Sierra Bullones lost over P800,000 to burglars who broke into the establishment late Monday night.
Chief Master Sgt. Condra Butil, Sierra Bullones police investigator, said that two thieves were seen through closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) footage as they forcibly entered the store through a backside window at 11:32 p.m.
The window was protected by a metal grill but this was destroyed by the cap and hoodie-wearing suspects who were covered by banana trees and bushes as they operated behind the establishment, said Butil.
“Sa likod sila niagi, naa may kasagingan, kasagbutan,” he added.
The store owner, Rogelio Butron, who lives on the upper floors of the establishment told police that he heard a loud sound at night, right about the same time as the later-known burglary, but dismissed it as nothing out of the ordinary.
“Kadungog sila na naay ni-paka pero gibaliwa ra nila kay basi’g unsa ra to,” said Butil.
According to Butil, they are already monitoring and building a case against two persons of interest.
The Sierra Bullones police coordinated with other police stations in nearby municipalities and found out that both men may have also been the perpetrators of burglaries in other towns including in Alicia based on CCTV footage.
Butil however did not identify the two men so as not jeopardize their continuing investigation on the cases.
“Mao rang tawhana kay mao ra ang gisul-ob tanan, ang jacket. [Kita] sa CCTV na mao ra pud ang tools na gigamit nila,” he said. (A. Doydora)
