A man was killed while three others were severely injured after two motorcycles collided head on in Loon town on Monday night.
The fatality, identified as Felix Gugol, 41, was rushed to the Cong. Natalio P. Castillo Sr. Memorial Hospital in Loon but was declared dead on arrival, said Chief Master Sgt. Eter Isidro of the Loon Police Station.
According to Isidro, Gugol while driving his motorcycle tried to overtake another vehicle as he headed towards Calape but slammed straight into an incoming motorcycle driven by one Domingo Igpit, 41.
“Head on collision unya kusog kaayo ang impact maong nahitabo na damaged kaayo ang motor,” said Isidro.
Igpit, his passenger Joseph Guno and Gugol’s passenger Jimmy Suacillo were rushed to the Loon hospital and later transferred to the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran City for emergency treatment.
Both Gugol and Suacillo were noted to have been wearing helmets during the incident.
Meanwhile, Igpit and Guno who were not wearing protective headgear, were critically injured.
“Ang driver sa XRM [Igpit] ug iyang angkas maoy grabe-grabe gi sige pa sila’g monitoring,” said Isidro, adding that both were unconscious when they were taken to the hospital. (A. Doydora)
