2 persons wanted for rape and murder nabbed in separate police operations in Inabanga, Talibon

Two ‘wanted’ persons facing charges of rape and murder were arrested in separate manhunt operations in Inabanga and Talibon on Thursday.

Facing charges for seven (7) counts of rape, Ruben Nestor Genita, 56, married and a resident of Lutao, Inabanga was arrested by elements of the Anti-Kidnapping Group Visayas Field Unit 7 (AKG-7) in Inabanga on Thursday afternoon.

Armed with an arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Leo Moises Lison, the police team led by AKG-7 chief Police Col. Salvador Alacyang were able to collar the suspect who will face trial for violations of the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, which is a non-bailable offense.

In Talibon, a murder suspect who is listed as 10th most wanted person in Dauis town identified as Jenon Casucot, 26, married and resident of Purok 2, Barangay San Francisco, Talibon, was arrested by a joint operating team from the Anti-Kidnapping Group 7 (AKG-7) and the Talibon Police Station on Thursday morning.

The operatives, also led by Police Col. Alacyang, arrested the suspect by virtue of a warrant of arrest that was also issued by Executive Judge Lison.

Casucot is said to be the suspect murder of one Morena Ismael Asadel on July 3, 2020 in Dauis. He is also the suspect behind several killings but the families of the victims refused to press charges against him, according to police.

No bail is recommended for Casucot. (kb, wm)
