The Planning Division, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) has all reasons to be proud of after they bested other divisions’ candidates for the just concluded search for OPA Couple 2016.

Vicente Pacatang and Sonia Sevilla from Planning Division were crowned as OPA Couple 2016 during the Annual Team Building Activity Search for OPA Couple 2016 held at the Bohol Cultural Center on February 12, 2016.

Florencio Angoy and Milagros Ibarra (Crops Division) landed as first runner-up; Eufemio Lansang and Catherine Ordinario (Agribusiness and RASS Divisions) as second runner-up; while Roseller Atillo and Caren Mae Ajero (Fisheries Div.), Michael Micutuan and Liza Gutierrez (Administration Div.) crowned as the third and fourth runners-up, respectively.

Administration Officer Gemma Encabo, OPA, said the proceeds of this year and last year searches will be used for another outreach program of the office which will be conducted momentarily to a selected locality.

Encabo recalled that on May 28, 2014, the OPA had conducted an outreach program in Libertad Sur, Sagbayan, Bohol wherein all the elementary graders of the barangay received the school uniforms, school bags, and others school supplies; slippers, toothpastes, toothbrushes, and assorted candies; and conducted a mass feeding and distributed the vegetable seeds and coconut seedlings to the barangay folks.

Likewise, the OPA employees participated in the barangay cleaned-up of which the barangay officials and the barangay folks were very thankful to the Provincial Government of Bohol led by Gov. Edgar M. Chatto and Vice Governor Concepcion O. Lim through the OPA.

Assistant Provincial Agriculturist Larry M. Pamugas emphasized that the team building is an annual activity that aims to strengthen the relationship among the OPA employees.

Pamugas stressed that this is a laudable initiative because the proceeds that would be collected will be used for the outreach program.

Provincial Agriculturist Liza M. Quirog in her message said that she is hopeful that the activity would really strengthen the relationship of the OPA employees.

She thanked the said employees for their being cooperative in all the activities of the provincial government. (By Atoy Cosap)
