George Gray, the disc jockey with the deep resonant voice passed away last Monday afternoon at the Ramiro Hospital after a lingering illness.

Born Joseph Concon Ligan in Salvador, Cortes on January 12, 1960, the 56-year old jock was an FM/AM radio personality for eleven years.

At DYRD, Ligan did more than play music at KISS 102.3FM as he was also a prime time newscaster over DYRD-AM.

George Gray hogged the limelight on Sundays, bringing back the music of yester years with “Good Morning Yesterday” and his two hour Sunday show “Kiss Back”,

He also played the Beatles on the half hour “Beatles Special” also on Sunday afternoons and  lulled listeners to sleep on his nightly show “Goodnight Kiss”.

George Gray hosted the “BQ Mall Midday Report” and anchored public affairs program and live coverage of important events. He also anchored “Nagkahiusamg Tagbilaran”, the radio program of the City Government.

Joseph Ligan worked as a civil works supervisor in Saudi Arabia in 1987-2004 before joining the local broadcast industry.
