8 prov’l board members bid goodbye to Boholanos

Eight Board Members (BM) of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) will leave the halls of the Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr. Session Hall at the Provincial Capitol Building after the end of their terms on June 30, 2016.

Led by it’s presiding officer, Vice Governor Concepcion Lim – 1988-2007 (BM), 2010-2016 (VG), 1st district BM Cesar Tomas Lopez – 2007-2016, 2nd district BM’s Jovanna Jumamoy – 2013-2016 and Gerardo Garcia – 2010-2016, 3rd district BM’s Dionisio Balite – 1989-1992, 1995-2001, 2004-2007, 2010-2016, Godofreda Tirol – 1998-2007, 2010-2016, Brigido Imboy – 2010-2016 and Antonio Ouano, Jr. 2013-2016 who was the ex-officio member of the SP representing the Provincial Councilors League (PCL).

Balite who won in the May 9, 2016 elections against Vice Governor Lim, was the longest sitting BM serving twenty years, cut short his last six years and ran against Lim.

Lim sat as BM for nine years and was the Vice Governor and Presiding Officer of the SP for six years while Lopez served out his three terms of nine years.

Jumamoy returned to private life after a three year stint as BM and Garcia decided to ran as 2nd district congressman after six years in the SP but lost to  incumbent congressman Ares Aumentado.

Tirol lost out on her bid for another three years in the SP having been elected for 15 years as 3rd district BM.

Imboy is now the vice mayor – elect of Loay and served the 3rd district as BM for six years while Ouano lost his bid for a seat as BM in the district after representing the councilors in the SP.

BM Romulo Cepedoza representing the punong barangays also said his farewell even as he will still sit in the SP until October, 2016, the date of the barangay elections.

The new members of the SP are Loon municipal councilor Ricky Masamayor as 1st district BM, Bien Unido Mayor Nino Rey Boniel and Trinidad municipal councilor Agapito Avenido for the 2nd district.

Businesswomen Kristine Alexis Tutor, wife of Candijay mayor Christopher Tutor and Jane Jade Acapulco Bautista and Dionisio Victor Balite, BIT International College school administrator and son on Vice Governor-elect Dionisio Balite as 3rd district BM’s.
