A regular employee of the local government of Corella left his post after his involvement in illegal drug activities was made known.
Corella Mayor Jose Nicanor Tocmo told DYRD Balita that he advised the said employee, whose identity was not disclosed, to resign due to his drug use.
Tocmo previously told municipal government employees involved in illegal drug activities toÂ tender their resignation.
Based on police reports, five job order employees of the Corella government also surrendered to cops for their involvement in drug crimesÂ as the town authorities continue to conduct Oplan Tokhang.
According to Tocmo, a total of 170 drug personalities yielded to Corella police and vowed to cut their involvement in illegal drug activities as of yesterday.
However, most of those who surrendered were users as police noted that drugs in Corella are usually sourced outside of the town. (with reports from Allen Doydora)
