Police operatives apprehended an alleged drug lord and three companionsÂ who yielded suspected shabu worth P1.3 million in buy-bust operations Friday night in Tagbilaran City.
A poseur-buyer purchased P1,000 worth of suspected shabu from the alleged drug lord identified as Lakai Panalo Akolan from Tubod, Iligan City resulting in his arrest during a police operation conducted in M. Torralba Street.
Members of the Bohol Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) collected nine packs of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu upon frisking Akolan who is a DVD and VCD vendor and a resident of Barangay Taloto.
The operatives were also able to collect one large pack of suspected shabu from Akolanâ€™s companion Alex Abambar who was also arrested during the operation.
Police also seized a car used by the suspects.
Before the arrests of Akolan and Abambar, the PIB apprehended anotherÂ suspect connected to the two drug pushers in a separate buy-bust operation conducted 5:30pm yesterday inside a hotel along J. Borja St. in Tagbilaran City.
Police collected 17 assorted sizes of packs containing suspected shabu including the one purchased from the suspect who was identified as Jeffrey Celada, a resident of Barangay Taloto.
The PIB said that the shabu seized from Akolan and Abambar weighedÂ approximately 80 grams and estimated to be worth P944,000 while the haul confiscated from Celada weighed approximately 30 grams and estimated to be worth P354,000.
Police Senior Inspector Ricardo Tero who led the buy-bust operations said that the seized drugs were from Marawi City in Mindanao and transported into the province through the town of Jagna.
Akolan allegedly supplied drugs to Celada, Tero added.
The suspects are currently detained in jail pending the filing of charges against them. (with reports from Rey Tutas)
