A suspect ranked fifth in the Candijay police watch list of drug personalities was arrested Thursday at a police checkpoint for possession of illegal drugs.

Candijay policemen apprehended Angelito Amora, 49, at a checkpoint in Barangay Poblacion of the said town after he was seen in possession of suspected shabu and failed to present legal documents for the vehicle he was driving.

Inspector Jose Tahanlangit, chief of the Candijay police, said that they found two sachets of suspected shabu inside a cigarette carton which was disposed by Amora upon approaching the checkpoint.

According to the authorities, Amora was also unable to present a driver’s license and vehicle registration.

The suspect who is a resident of Brgy. Poblacion, Candijay is currently detained at the municipality’s police station pending the filing of charges against him. (Willy Maestrado)
