A big-time pusher who was caught with shabu worth P310,000 was arrested with his girlfriend in a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Booy, Tagbilaran CIty on Monday night.

The two suspects were collared inside the Coralandia Resort after the Tagbilaran City police received intelligence reports indicating drug transactions were made within the hotel vicinity.

Operatives moved in to arrest suspect, Carlito Dela Cruz, 33, a resident of Brgy. San Agustin, Talibon, after he sold suspected shabu worth P1,000 to an undercover policeman.

However, the suspect ran toward his hotel room where he was cornered and police caught his girlfriend, Marife Digal, 26, who was sorting illegal drugs.

Police seized eight large packs of shabu approximately weighing 70 grams found inside the suspects’ room.

According to Supt. Nicomedes Olaivar Jr., Tagbilaran City police chief, Dela Cruz is a newly known drug personality, while Digal, a resident of Brgy. Cabawan in the city, previously surrendered to police.

Both suspects are currently detained at the lock-up jail of the Tagbilaran City police pending the filing of drug charges against them. (Willy Maestrado)
