National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents are on the lookout for three drug lords who could still be operating in the province, according to one of its officials in Bohol.

Atty. Arcelito Albao, NBI-Bohol executive officer, said that the NBI may be hot on the trail of one drug lord as that they were able to arrest an aide of one of the three drug suspects.

Albao did not disclose the arrested individual’s identity so as not to jeopardize the NBI’s ongoing investigation.

According to Albao, they are conducting monitoring operations to verify if the said big-time drug personalities are still in Bohol.

However, speculations indicated that the three drug lords already left the province following the launch of the government’s intensified drive against illegal narcotics trade.

But the NBI official assured the public that they will sustain search operations until the drug lords are found in the province or outside Bohol by other authorities.

Meanwhile, NBI-Bohol is also conducting an investigation on reports indicating that drug supply from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City is still reaching the province.

This, after police arrested a suspected drug “coordinator” in Tagbilaran City who claimed that he received illegal drug supply from the controversial NBP.

The arrested suspect, Antonio Siesmondo, reportedly received drugs through his cousin who is an NBP inmate.

However, Seismondo did not divulge the identity of his boss at the national penitentiary. (Allen Doydora)
