Gian Pedros, a nine-day-old, is need of surgery to save his life from a rare condition and the costly operation left the patient’s family with no recourse but to ask for the public’s help.

The newborn’s father, Erlindo Pedros of Brgy. Tontonan, Loon, appealed to the listeners of DYRD Inyong Alagad on Wednesday to seek assistance, and many of those tuned in willingly extended financial aid.

In less than 24 hours, DYRD gathered more than P20,000 for Gian who suffers from a condition where his intestine is stuck to his lungs.

Following the overwhelming support, Erlindo expressed his gratitude to donors who offered financial assistance, which continued to reach DYRD as of press time.

Over the years, DYRD’s Inyong Alagad has been able to raise funds for a number of patients in need of immediate medical attention but lack finances for hospital bills.

Station DYRD’s Tagbilaran by Night program has also contributed in relaying the concerns of those in need of financial aid to radio listeners in Bohol and the rest of the world. (Allen Doydora)
