The Provincial Board is set to conduct an investigation on a safety hazard complaint against Starcraft, a passenger fast craft plying the Tubigon-Cebu route.
Allegations aired by the public through DYRD Inyong Alagad indicated that the entrance and exit of the vessel is too narrow which could pose danger during emergencies.
Some of the complainants noted that evacuation would take more time due to the narrow path.
Board Member Ricky Masamayor in his privilege speech during the SP’s regular session today acknowledged complaints made by radio callers of Friday’s edition of the radio program.
Masamayor also raised a complaint of his own as he noted that he had encountered problems with the vessel’s facilities such as the boat’s air conditioning unit which malfunctioned.
The Board Member suggested to extend invitations to officials of Starcraft, Maritime Industry authority and Coast Guard requesting their presence during the probe.
The investigation will be headed by the committee on public utilities which is chaired by ex-officio Board Member Romulo Cepedoza, president of the Liga ng mga Barangay in Bohol. (Rey Tutas)Â
