Paul Alfuerto who was shot by an unidentified assailant on Tuesday night succumbed to a gunshot wound from the attack in Barangay Zamora, Bilar.

According to the Bilar Police Station, Alfuerto passed away at 9 a.m on Wednesday.

The victim was rushed to a private hospital in Tagbilaran City after he sustained a gunshot wound to his chin.

Witnesses said that motorcycle-riding men who rode in tandem suddenly stopped near Alfuerto as the passenger shot at the victim four times but only hit him once.

The suspects immediately fled to an unknown direction.

Police said that they are facing a blank wall in their investigation but will still verify if the incident was drug-related as the victim previously surrendered as a drug personality under Oplan Tokhang. (Allen Doydora)
