A son of a former policeman who yielded suspected shabu with an estimated street value of  P24,190 was arrested by intelligence officers of the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) in a buy-bust operation on Saturday.
Police identified the suspect as Alexis Somontan, a 27-year-old resident of Barangay Dela Paz, Cortes.
Somantan was collared by operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) after he was allegedly spotted selling shabu along Junction, Barangay Bool, Tagbilaran City.
A police poseur-buyer was reportedly able to buy shabu worth P500 from Somantan resulting in the buy-bust subject’s immediate arrest.
Police then searched the suspect’s Mitsubishi Adventure and found 2.05 grams of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.
According to PIB team leader, Police Chief Insp. Rolando Antipolo, Somantan is a newly identified drug suspect who allegedly operated out of Cortes.
