The recent robberies of a Batuan policeman in Carmen and husband and wife business owners in Ubay may have been perpetrated by the same riding-in-tandem male suspects, said the police. According to PO2 Ghee Ilaw of the Carmen police, the two robbers are likely to be members of a crime syndicate operating out of Cebu.

He noted that their daring robberies which included stealing from SPO3 Eulojio Casilak on Thursday could be an indication that the suspects are not from Bohol.

Ilaw also said that based on Casilak’s description of the men who shot and robbed him of 50,000, the same suspects may have victimized Eliezar and Eliana Amolat of Barangay Lumangog, Tubigon.

The Amolats on Monday were also robbed by two motorcycle-riding men outside their home as they were about to park their vehicle.

The masked suspects reportedly were able to steal P65,000 from the couple.

Police in Carmen and Ubay are still conducting further investigation while they have no definite identities of the suspects.

However, Casilak told Carmen investigators that he will be able to identify the suspects who robbed him if presented before him as his attackers were not wearing masks.

Casilak was running an errand for his business and delivering bottles of soft drinks in Barangay Alegria, Carmen when he was flagged down by the two suspects.

He was shot without provocation by one of the robbers before they fled with his money. (Allen Doydora)
